Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Lundy Island

Lundy Island, in mouth of Bristol Channel, 11 miles NW. of Hartland Point, 2½ miles long and 1 mile broad, 920 ac., pop. 177. Lundy Island belongs to the co. of Devon, and is almost wholly devoted to pasturage; ½ mile from the southern end is Lundy Light-house, 96 ft. high, with revolving light 540 ft. above high water and seen 30 miles.
