Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for GIFFORDS-HALL

GIFFORDS-HALL, the seat of the Mannocks family, in the SW of Suffolk; on the river Bret, 3¼ miles NE of Nayland. It was built in the time of Henry VIII.; and it has remains of an ancient chapel.
