BROUGHTON, a township in Kirby-in-Cleveland parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 3 miles SE of Stokesley. Acres, 2,780. Real property, £4,423. Pop., 577. Houses, 129. A cairn, on the summit of a mountain here, is alleged to be monumental of a Danish chief.
