POCKLEY, a township-chapelry in Helmsley parish, N. R. Yorkshire; on a branch of the river Rye, 1½ mile N E of Helmsley, and 6 N by E of Gilling r. station. Post-town, Helmsley, under York. Acres, 2, 392. Real property, £1, 327. Pop., 199. Houses, 41. The living is a p. curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Helmsley, in the diocese of York. The church is modern.
