CANDLESHOE, a wapentake in the parts of Lindsey, Lincoln; cut into two divisions, Marsh and Wold. The Marsh div. contains Addlethorpe, Burgh, and nine. other parishes. Acres, 48,880. The Wold div. contains Ashby, Candlesby, and twelve other parishes. Acres, 17,232. Pop. of both div. 10,662. Houses, 2,237.
