Law, a mining village in Carluke parish, Lanarkshire, with a station on the Caledonian railway, 6½ miles NW of Carstairs, and 6 SE of Carfin by the Wishaw railway (1880). Of recent and rapid growth, it has an Established mission church (1880), a Free church (1879), and a public school. Pop. (1881) 1455.Ord. Sur., sh. 23, 1865.
