Hampden, Great, par., mid. Bucks, 4 miles SW. of Wendover, 1763 ac., pop. 255. Hampden House (the residence of John Hampden, the parliamentarian) here, is now the seat of the Earl of Buckinghamshire. Hampden's grave is within the church.
