Gilnockie, ry. sta., Canonbie par., SE. Dumfries-shire, 4½ miles SE. of Langholm; the peel-tower of Gilnockie, the stronghold of Johnnie Armstrong (executed 1529), the Border freebooter, has entirely disappeared.
