Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Littlehampton

Littlehampton, coast town and par. with ry. sta., Sussex, 8 m. NE. of Bognor, 18 m. W. of Brighton, and 63 m. SW. of London, 925 ac. and 129 fore-shore, pop. 3926; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks, 1 newspaper. Littlehampton is the port for Arundel, and has a spacious harbour capable of accommodating vessels of considerable size. (For shipping statistics, see Appendix.) The town has become much frequented as a watering-place, its bathing ground being unsurpassed for comfort and safety.
