Midsomer Norton, town and par. with ry. sta., Somerset, 1½ mile W. of Radstock and 10 miles SW. of Bath, 3922 ac., pop. 4422; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; has a large trade in malting and brewing, and in coal, and is the seat of a Roman Catholic College (1814), with observatory.
