Criccieth, parl. bor. and par. with ry. sta., S. Carnarvonshire, 4½ miles SW. of Tremadoc and 243 miles NW. of London -- par., 1678 ac., pop. 1213; bor., 469 ac., pop. 1108; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks; a quiet watering-place, with beautiful scenery and salubrious air, finely situated at the head of Tremadoc Bay. At the termination of a long neck of land projecting into the sea are remains of an ancient castle, supposed to be of British origin, with Norman additions. Criccieth unites with Carnarvon, Bangor, Conway, Nevin, and Pwllheli in returning 1 member to Parliament.
