RUNTON, a parish in Erpingham district, Norfolk; on the coast, 2¼ miles W by N of Cromer, and 10½ N W of North Walsham r. station. Post-town, Cromer, under Norwich. Acres, 1, 448; of which 195 are water. Real property, £1, 899. Pop., 510. Houses, 114. The property is divided among a few. R. Hall belongs to Sir T. F. Buxton, Bart. The living is a rectory, annexed to Aylmerton, in the diocese of Norwich. The church is ancient, and was recently restored. There are a Primitive Methodist chapel, a large national school in the Gothic style, and charities £40.
