RAVENSWORTH, a township in Kirkby-Ravens-worth parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 5 miles N N W of Richmond. It has a post-office under Richmond, Yorkshire. Acres, 2, 176. Real property, £4, 150. Pop., 257. Houses, 61. A castle stood here before the Norman conquest; was renovated or rebuilt, as the residence of the Fitz-Hughes; and is now represented by some small remains. There are a Wesleyan chapel and a parochial school.
