A college, for a master and eight secular priests, was founded here, in 1350, by Sir John de Norwich; went, at the dissolution, to Sir. A. Derry; and passed to the Bacon family, of whom were Friar Bacon, Lord Keeper Bacon, and Lord Chancellor Bacon. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Norwich. Value, £70. Patron, Sir H. Bacon, Bart. The church is good.
