MOEL-FAMMAU, a mountain on the mutual border of Flintshire and Denbighshire; 4 miles W by S of Mold. It has an altitude of 1,845 feet; and is crowned with the Jubilee Tower, erected in 1810, by the gentlemen of Flintshire, to commemorate the 50th year of George III. 's reign. The tower is a pyramidal column, 150 feet high; and commands a map-like view of the entire vale of Clwyd, and a vast panoramic view to CaderIdris, Snowdon, the Wrekin, and the Cumberland Black Comb.
