CROFT, a parish in Spilsby district, Lincoln; on the river Steeping, at the coast, 2 miles NNE of Wainfleet, and 3 E by S of Firsby and Spilsby r. station. It has a post office under Boston. Acres, 6, 153; of which 680 are water. Real property, £11, 365. Pop., 784. Houses, 163. Croft Bank lies off the coast; and Croft manor-house and Croft End are residences. ...
The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln. Value, £480. Patron, Lord Monson. The church is early English; was repaired in 1838; and has a handsome tower, which was restored in 1857. There are a Weslcyan chapel, a free school, and some charities.
