SIXHILLS, a parish in Caistor district, Lincoln; 4¼ miles ESE of Market-Rasen r. station. Post town, Market-Rasen. Acres, 1,962. Real property, £1,784. Pop., 164. Houses, 28. The manor belongs to G. F. Heneage, Esq. A Gilbertine priory was founded here, in the time of Stephen, by Albert de Greslei; was the prison of Mary, sister of Robert Bruce, in 1306; and was given, at the dissolution, to Sir T. Heneage. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln. Value, £67.* Patron, G. F. Heneage, Esq.
