In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Minley like this:
Minley, eccl. dist. and vil., Yately par., Hants - dist., pop. 149; the vil. is 3½ miles NW. of Farnborough; in vicinity of vil. is Minley Manor, seat. See HAWLEY AND MINLEY.
