In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Gracehill like this:
Gracehill (or Ballykennedy), vil., Ahoghill par., W. co. Antrim, on river Main, 2 miles NW. of Ballymena, pop. 213; P.O., T.O.; a Moravian settlement was founded here in 1746.
