STOW-MARIES, or Stow-St. Mary, a parish in Maldon district, Essex; 6 miles S by W of Maldon r. station. It has a post-office under Maldon. Acres, 2,444. Real property, £2,668. Pop., 265. Houses, 49. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Rochester. Value, £660.* Patron, Mr. Colley. The church is chiefly later English.
